The European Criminal Bar Association, on the initiative of the Italian Criminal Lawyers Association, has sent a letter to the President of the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Council, the LIBE Committee and to the Secretary General and the HR Commissioner of the Council of Europe to urge them to take a concrete and urgent action on the case of the Iranian lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, sentenced in her country to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes, for crimes such as "collusion against national security", "propaganda against the State", "incitement to corruption and prostitution" and "appearing in public without hijab".
